Updated: Mar 15, 2021

A leafy green (and purple), virus fighting drink to boost your spirits and keep you healthy.

Nutrition:

This beverage fills you with energy and increases your vitality. It is ideal before or after physical activity and gives you an amazing feeling of refreshment. The iron, potassium and calcium present in the spinach help to build your muscles, making your bones stronger and restoring your energy. Spinach also improves the quality of the blood and prevents iron deficiency anaemia by transporting the oxygen around the body. Spinach is also a rich source of vitamin K, which is fundamental for promoting blood clotting and for maintaining bone health. All green leafy vegetables (kale, collard green, broccoli, brussels sprouts) have clorophyll and carotenoids such as beta carotene, lutein and zeaxanthin, that have anti-cancerous properties. Moreover, the carotenoids improve your eyesight and prevent macular degeneration. Blueberries and kiwi are optimal for shots or smoothies. They are considered superfoods, as they are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C. Vitamin C not only protects your immune system, but also aids iron absorption. Therefore, they are a perfect match with spinach, which is high in iron. Another important nutritional fact about blueberries is their capacity to slow down the rate at which sugar is released into the bloodstream, thereby preventing type-2 diabetes. Kiwis enrich this shot with an extra boost of vitamin C and vitamin E that increases our ability to fight against illness and infection.
